John 15 tells me that God abides in me and I abide in Him.
In John 15: 4-5 Jesus says “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself,
unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much
fruit: for without Me you can do nothing.”
To abide is to live in an abode.
The Holy Spirit has convicted my heart. I have been born into the family of God in
Christ Jesus.
I have experienced Salvation. My spirit has been reborn.
I am in Christ. I
abide in Him. My abode is in God and His
love.
I am saved by God’s grace, not by anything in and of myself.
(Ephesians 2:8,9).
At rebirth, the Holy Spirit entered my spirit. The seeds of His fruit are now placed in me.
God is in me. God
lives in me. God abides in me.
God’s abode is in me.
God is love. Love
abides in me.
I abide in Him and He abides in me.
Love produces obedience.
God in me produces obedience.
The seeds of His fruit grow within me as I grow and mature
in my faith through the word.
I am being Sanctified as I grow in faith and the Word.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God
(Romans 10:17).
The Holy Spirit, abiding in me, empowers me to be obedient
and helps me to keep growing in my faith.
A lamp doesn’t light
if not plugged into electricity. A
flashlight is worthless without a battery.
The Holy Spirit in me is the power and strength of my being.
God’s Holy Spirit empowers me. His leading requires a response from me.
I am able to respond by being obedient because He empowers
me to be and do what He asks of me.
The seeds of the fruit of the Spirit manifest themselves in
my life as I grow in my faith empowered by the Holy Spirit who abides in my
spirit.
God’s love in me makes me more loving, more joyful, more
peaceful, kinder, gentler, better, more faithful, more patient, and gives me
more self-control. He empowers me to
respond (Galatians 5:22,23).
Faith is a gift. I
live in an attitude of gratitude and thankfulness to God for all that He has
given me.
I praise, worship, and glorify God; the Father, the Son, and
the Holy Spirit.
Lord, Keep teaching me, growing me, and empowering me in you
and in the knowledge and power of your Word.
Amen
